MISSION
The VMUF Research Development and Planning Center (Research Center) is a service unit under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs necessary on achieving a culture of research for quality education. In realizing and achieving the philosophy of the university, this office aims to
q Help in concretizing VMUF vision and mission toward research excellence;
q Assist in creating an environment conducive to the conduct of scholarly research;
q Assist in making research an integrated academic and professional activity of all faculty undertakings;
q Help focus the research activities of the faculty toward improving the quality of life;
q Promote research in support to a relevant teaching function; and
q Disseminate research related in information to internal and external users.
GOALS
q To cultivate a culture of research in the University with the highest standards of ethics
q To lead in the formulation of policies and guidelines on research activities of the institution
q To lead in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of research-related activities in the University
q To assist the administrative offices in formulating strategic as well as development plans of the University system by providing pertinent data gathered through research.
q To help utilize research outputs as scientific bases for its plans and programs
q To lead in the dissemination and utilization of research outputs including technology management and transfer
SERVICES
q Assistance to student, faculty and non-teaching staff researchers on research methodologies including instrument development and validity and reliability testing
q Assistance to student, faculty and non-teaching staff researchers on appropriate statistical methods
q Provides facility logistics for laboratory/experimental researches with its state-of-the-art laboratory
q Training of University personnel for research capability-building
q Evaluation of the University’s services, functions and activities, as well as those of its workforce.
q Provide information to its linkages in the government and to other external users to serve as bases and inputs for their policy formulation and for possible program adoption.
