The college experience of 199 students from different undergraduate and graduate programs was
concluded today, January 17, 2025 at the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation Inc. Event Center.
‘This is not the end of a journey but rather the beginning of a new adventure.’ Hon. Mayor Julier
C. Resuello, the guest of honor and speaker stated, further encouraging and acknowledging the
graduates. He also shared future plans for the city of San Carlos to inspire them on their future
endeavors.
‘I wish the title that we earned today will result in a change, not just in our lives but for the
lives of other people,’ Ces Gia S. Boquiren from the College of Medical Laboratory Science, this
batch’s Magna Cum Laude declared as part of her message of gratitude.
In addition, after several years of having no recipient, Angela Marie F. Tambong from the College
of Engineering received the Journalism award which is given to journalists who have won National
titles. She also received the Council of Student Leaders Award for her prior service to the
council with Gian Joseph Limos from the College of Medical Laboratory Science and Mercedes
Preyanka Fontanosa from the College of Physical Therapy.
Several awards were also given to the VMUF Medical Laboratory Science graduates who interned in
various hospitals. Erica Q. Alarin both received the Society of Aspiring Medical Laboratory
Scientists (SAMELASCI) Award for Academic Excellence and Most outstanding VMUF MLS Intern in the
Region I Medical Center.
Meanwhile Marinelle Paglingayen received the Most outstanding VMUF MLS Intern in Baguio General
Hospital and Medical Center. John Paul Avila and Miranda Clemence both received the Most
outstanding VMUF MLS Interns in Victoriano Luna Medical Center. Rochelle Anne Gallardo, Emmanuel
Lord Alberto, and Miles Ursua received the Most Outstanding VMUF MLS MLS Intern at Dr. Jose N.
Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center, and Virgen Milagrosa
Medical Center respectively. Lastly, Leejeane Ocampo received the Best MLS Intern in Blood Donor
Phlebotomy in Region I Medical Center.
Among the recipients of the special awards was also Carina Cabuang, Caregiving NCII, who received
the Most Outstanding in Clinical Practice in Caregiving NCII and Dr Angel Reyes Jr, Dr. Rommel F.
Irabagan, and Nowell Berth M. Jimenez who graduated with a Master’s Degree in Public Health.
Loyalty awards were also given to students who have studied with VMUF for many years prior to
their graduate and undergraduate programs.
The said event was attended by the council of deans, faculty members and staff of different
colleges, and proud parents of the graduates.
