As Typhoons Dante and Emong, along with the intensified southwest monsoon, brought heavy rains and displacement across Northern Luzon, the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation - College of Pharmacy extended support through its community outreach program, PHARMACARES.

Under the ongoing PharmaCares initiative of ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ท๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐— .๐—”.๐—ฅ.๐—ง.๐—œ.๐—ก., the ๐—ฃ๐—›๐—”๐—ฅ๐— ๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—”๐—ฆ๐—”๐—ž๐—œ๐—ง Club, led by Dean Shiela DV. Miranda, faculty members, and alumni, organized a medical outreach for evacuees in Barangay Aponit, San Carlos City. The college provided essential medicines and basic medical assistance to those affected by the severe weather.

In partnership with the ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต, ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—˜๐˜…๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ข๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ (๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—–๐—˜๐—ข) and the ๐—ฃ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€ โ€“ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐—ผ๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ต, the activity served a total of 123 beneficiaries. The medicines distributed were mainly for common illnesses such as cough, colds, fever, and included vitamin supplements.

The outreach was supported by donors including ECE Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Teng-Tengโ€™s Pharmacy, and Miss Bea Bane, RPh (BSPh Class of 2023). This initiative reflects VMUFโ€™s continued commitment to community service and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
