As Typhoons Dante and Emong, along with the intensified southwest monsoon, brought heavy rains and
displacement across Northern Luzon, the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation - College of
Pharmacy extended support through its community outreach program, PHARMACARES.
Under the ongoing PharmaCares initiative of ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ .๐.๐ฅ.๐ง.๐.๐ก., the
๐ฃ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ง Club, led by Dean Shiela DV. Miranda, faculty members, and alumni,
organized a medical outreach for evacuees in Barangay Aponit, San Carlos City. The college
provided essential medicines and basic medical assistance to those affected by the severe weather.
In partnership with the ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต, ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐
๐๐
๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ (๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ข) and the ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ โ
๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ผ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ต, the activity served a total of 123 beneficiaries. The medicines
distributed were mainly for common illnesses such as cough, colds, fever, and included vitamin
supplements.
The outreach was supported by donors including ECE Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Teng-Tengโs Pharmacy,
and Miss Bea Bane, RPh (BSPh Class of 2023).
This initiative reflects VMUFโs continued commitment to community service and aligns with the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and
SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
