The Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation Inc. (VMUF) hosted a Drug Awareness Seminar last July 24, 2026 at the VMUF Event Center to educate students and staff on the dangers of illegal drugs and promote a drug-free campus.

The event was organized by the VMUF Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), alongside the Council of Student Leaders (CSL), the Safety and Health Committee, and the Security Committee. Representatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office I - San Fernando, La Union served as resource speakers.

๐—”๐˜๐˜๐˜†. ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ฃ. ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—๐—ฟ. of PDEA's Legal and Prosecution Section detailed the Drug-Free Workplace Program. He emphasized the impact of illegal drug use on educational institutions, outlining legal bases and key program components, including campus advocacy, drug testing, and intervention strategies.

Meanwhile, ๐—ฆ๐—”๐—ข ๐—œ๐—ฉ ๐—•๐—ถ๐˜€๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜„๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป, Chief of PDEAโ€™s Preventive Education and Community Involvement Section (PICES), trained students on drug identification and recognizing the physical signs and behaviors associated with drug influence.

The seminar aimed to equip the VMUF community with the knowledge to combat drug threats and encourage a drug-free lifestyle.

Mr. Dyrom Torio closed the event by presenting a drug-awareness acronym for the institutionโ€™s initials: ๐—ฉalue life, ๐— ake responsible choices, ๐—จnite for a drug-free VMUF, and ๐—™oster integrity and faith.
