In a heartwarming ceremony at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall on October 2, student
athletes from Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF) were awarded a plaque of recognition
to celebrate their outstanding achievements.
One standout athlete, Renier Jay B. Ranges, is a Grade 12 student from VMUF in San Carlos City,
Pangasinan. Assisted by his Coach and Sports Director Dante M. Camaso, Ranges claimed a gold
medal in the 100-meter dash with an impressive 11.9 second finish and a silver medal in the
200-meter dash in the Athletic Secondary Boys during the 2023 Palarong Pambansa held in
Marikina, Metro Manila.
The 2023 Palarong Pambansa featured 9,172 athletes, coaches, and officials from all 17 regions
of the Philippines, competing in various sporting events.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), led by Vice Governor Mark Ronald DG. Lambino, extended their
congratulations to these remarkable young athletes and acknowledged their remarkable
contributions to the field of sports.
Moreover, the VMUF student athletes from the 3rd District of Pangasinan were honored for their
victories in the 2023 Private Schools Athletic Associations (PRISAA) national games held in
Zamboanga City held from July 13 to 19, 2023. This prestigious event drew more than 6,000
athletes from 437 schools, colleges, and universities nationwide.
The athletes showcased their prowess in athletics, securing gold, silver, and bronze medals
across different categories, including Athletics (Secondary Girls), Athletics Men (Tertiary),
and Athletics Women (Tertiary). These recognitions were granted in response to two Provincial
Resolutions filed on August 14, 2023, by SPM Vici M. Ventanilla of the 3rd District,
highlighting the extraordinary achievements of VMUF's student athletes.
VMUF continues to be a beacon of talent and excellence in the world of sports, nurturing the
potential of its students and inspiring future generations to reach for the stars.
