VMUF Business Office Launches Hapag ng Pag-Asa: Mainit na Kalinga sa Bawa't Kutsara
In a heartwarming demonstration of compassion and solidarity, the Business Office of Virgen
Milagrosa University Foundation, under the leadership of VP for Finance Dr. Angeline Mae P.
Juan-Reyna, and in partnership with the Research, Innovation and Community Extension Office,
officially launched a meaningful initiative under the flagship Project M.A.R.T.I.N. — “Hapag ng
Pag-Asa: Mainit na Kalinga sa Bawat Kutsara.” This endeavor underscores the importance of empathy,
nourishment, and partnership in times of adversity.
The project provided hot meals to 86 beneficiaries, including healthcare workers who continue to
dedicate themselves to patient care amidst challenges, and hospital watchers of the Virgen
Milagrosa Medical Center, who remain steadfast in supporting their loved ones during
hospitalization.
By offering warm, nutritious meals, the initiative aimed not only to alleviate hunger but also to
uplift spirits and express heartfelt appreciation to frontline medical staff and caregivers.
“Hapag ng Pag-Asa” aligns strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) —
specifically SDG 2: Zero Hunger, by addressing short-term food insecurity, and SDG 17:
Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening collaboration between university sectors and
community stakeholders.
Through this act of kindness, the Business Office reaffirms that healing and hope can begin with
something as simple, yet powerful, as a hot meal served with love. This initiative is a testament
to VMUF’s enduring commitment to compassion-driven service, meaningful community engagement, and
united action for the common good.
